In collaboration with Spoleto Festival USA, Charleston Jazz Academy will host Wells Fargo Jazz Series performing artist David Virelles in a workshop May 28. Born in Cuba in 1983, Virelles was raised in a musical family. Discovering his grandfather’s jazz collection ignited a passion and changed his life’s musical direction. Gain insight from Virelles’s personal musical experiences as a pianist and composer and learn Cuban music traditions in this free workshop. For all ages and experience levels.
