Spartanburg Chautauqua History Alive: Amelia Earhart, Mark Twain, Wernher von Braun, Matthew Henson
Buckle up! Chautauqua is taking Greenville and Spartanburg on some of the greatest American adventures of all time, at Chautauqua’s annual History Alive Festival this June. You’ll meet some wildly courageous characters, fly with Amelia Earhart, race to the North Pole with Matthew Henson, blast into space with Wernher von Braun and laugh out loud with that steam boating, river rafting, wily intellect – Mark Twain. That’s the Chautauqua Festival, where history comes alive for ten straight days – two full weekends – from June 17 to 26. Evening shows outdoors; more shows indoors during the day. All shows free and suitable for the whole family.
