Richard McDermott Miller and his Circle
Richard McDermott Miller (1922-2004) focused on the female figure and created scores of works from tiny to monumental. An exhibition at Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet features a retrospective of his sculpture from 1964 to 2004, including ground-breaking works such as Mary Walking and Sandy in Defined Space. Also included are experimental studies, models for commissions, and examples of his portraits of well-known individuals in business, arts, and letters. Offered in partnership with the National Sculpture Society, the exhibit runs April 14 – July 29. Free with admission.
