Recent Work by Tom Lauerman
Clemson University Center for Visual Arts presents works by Tom Lauerman November 6 – 10 in the Acorn Gallery in Lee Hall. Lauerman works within the overlap of sculpture, craft, and design. His objects, drawings, and installations explore the emotional capacities of constructed spaces as a visual, tactile, and visceral experience. In the studio, he seeks to synthesize digital fabrication strategies and traditional craft techniques. Lauerman is a professor in ceramics and sculpture at Pennsylvania State University. His teachings instill in students the importance of being makers and creating designs that will support a wide range of STEAM-related occupations in the 21st century. An artist talk takes place November 6 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
