Made with mostly watercolor on paper, Wilkinson’s paintings “source images from Hollywood’s golden era, late ’70s/early ’80s tomboys, heartthrobs, disco, and private Tumblr accounts.” These evocative works are layered with narratives extracted from the artist’s experience of identity. The careful application of paint and detail marks a significance in the push and pull of both material and the self. These playful hybrids manage to scrutinize the binary through a veil of beauty and glam.

The closing reception includes a brief word from the artist at 5:30 p.m. Visitors may come and go at their leisure. This show is free.
