Parker Quartet Concerts

The Grammy Award-winning Parker Quartet returns as USC’s Quartet-in-Residence to perform in the new Johnson Performance Hall at the Darla Moore School of Business. They have been hailed by The New York Times as “something extraordinary.” The Boston Globe called them, “…intense, virtuosic, utterly assured…” Recently also named the Blodgett Quartet-in-Residence at Harvard University, the world-renowned quartet members Daniel Chong and Ying Xue, violin, Jessica Bodner, viola, and Kee-Hyun Kim, cello, return to Columbia as the USC Quartet-in-Residence.Tuesday, March 17 at 7:30, the program includes Mozart’s Quartet in B Flat Major, Jörg Widmann’s, Quartet No.3 and Brahms Quartet in B Flat Major. Tickets are $5 to $15 (Adults $15; senior citizens, USC faculty & staff, and military $10; students $5) and can be purchased at sc.edu/music/parker-residency. Sunday, March 22 at 5:00, the group gives a free concert featuring Schulhoff’s Five Pieces for String Quartet and Schubert’s Quartet No.14 in D Minor, “Death and the Maiden.”
