Paintin de Gullah Story

Beaufort Arts Council/Mather Academy offers a class in “Paintin de Gullah Story,” December 15-17. This acrylic painting course will provide participants the study of Gullah and Gullah culture through the imagery of the sea islands. While references of lowcountry life will be represented in this course, the teaching artist will also discuss influences from lowcountry artists such as Jonathan Green, Dianne Britton Dunham, and Lillie Simmons focusing on the bold colors and vivid textural changes of these artists as students create their own canvas.
