OLLI at Clemson Presents Let’s Build a Dulcimer

OLLI at Clemson hosts a day of making your own Appalachian Dulcimer, October 24. Fretted string instruments in the zither family, dulcimers are an integral part of traditional Appalachian music with roots in Scots-Irish heritage. No prior woodworking experience is needed as all parts are precut and all wood. You get to assemble, sand, and string up your own handmade dulcimer. Participants will benefit from one-on-one instructions from a pro dulcimer maker and player, and even some beginner lessons are included if time permits.
