OLLI at Clemson Presents Artistic Impressions: Exploring the Impressionist Movement

Surveys show that the Impressionist movement produced many of America’s favorite painters, but how much do you know about them? Against what were they rebelling? What did they borrow from the past? How different are they one from another? Who came first, Monet or Manet? OLLI at Clemson University invites you to discover what else Monet painted besides Giverny flowers, what Degas depicted besides ballerinas, which painter just had to insert himself into nearly every crowd scene, and how these artists influenced the 20th and 21st centuries. The workshop, Artistic Impressions: Exploring the Impressionist Movement, will take place Wednesdays from September 23rd through October 28th.
