OLLI at Clemson Presents A Carousel of Italian Opera’s Arias

OLLI at Clemson University presents A Carousel of Italian Opera’s Arias, Mondays and Thursdays, November 7th – November 17th, from 1:30 – to 2:30 p.m at the Charles K. Cheezem Education Center. In the past 20 years, American audiences have been introduced to the Three Tenors (Jose’ Carreras, Placido Domingo, and Luciano Pavarotti), as well as Andre’ Rieu, Andrea Bocelli and others. Many of the featured musical performances were arias from such Italian opera composers as Verdi, Rossini, Puccini and Leoncavallo. Class participants will listen to these short musical parts, compare the Italian texts to their English translations, and learn where these musical chapters fit into the context of the plot. $27 for OLLI members; $57 for non-members.
