“Oedipus Rex” at The South Carolina School of the Arts
The South Carolina School of the Arts at Anderson University presents Oedipus Rex April 5-8. Praised by Aristotle as the standard for tragedy, the play’s driving pace and ironic unfolding remains as powerful as ever. Because of the ensemble nature of the play, the chorus brings a unique, unifying voice to the play. Themes of prophecy, tragic irony, judgment, and truth are explored in this classic piece of theatre as Oedipus’s hamartia exposes his fate. Directed by Robert Homer-Drummond, associate professor of Theatre, and assistant directed by Directing student, Jenna Thiel. Admission $15.
