The City of North Charleston’s Artist-in-Residence, Caroline Self, will present a collection of recent expressionist works in her exhibit, Life – In Sotto Voce. This reflective collection utilizes color, shape, symbolism, and texture to create layers of thought and expression, softly daring the viewer to look further. Master batik artist Arianne King Comer transforms music into visions in textile in her exhibit, A Salute to the Color of Music. Her featured collection of batiks honors significant pieces in African American music, with many including notes from the selections. The exhibition runs December 1st – January 31st at the North Charleston City Gallery. Opening reception December 1, from 5 – 7 p.m. Free.
