Molière 2.0 is an original homage to France’s best-loved comic playwright, drawing (almost) all its lines from over a dozen of his most famous plays. Siblings Angélique & Cléante love Valère & Mariane, but their grasping parents Géronte & Frosine plan to marry them off instead to wealthy aristocrats the Vicomte de Villebrequin & the Marquise de Mirepoix. Wily domestics Scapin & Toinette disguise themselves as doctors to help their young master & mistress. A slapstick comedy of errors & enemas, enthusiastically performed in French prose & verse (English synopsis provided in the program), Molière 2.0 will be performed at the Columbia Museum of Art, Friday, March 6 at 7 PM and Sunday, March 8 at 2 PM. Presented by Alliance Française of Columbia.
