In Joshua Weinstein’s 2017 Yiddish language American drama that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, Menashe is a recently widowed Hasidic Jewish man attempting to regain custody of his 10-year-old son. In doing so, he works through cultural expectations and rituals to justify both his faith and his capability as a parent. The film will be shown in Yiddish with English subtitles.
