Memorial poetry readings commemorating 100th anniversary of end of World War I
The College of Charleston will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the armistice that ended the First World War with memorial poetry readings November 12. From 9:54 AM until 3:08 PM, members of the College of Charleston community will read poems from and about the war on Cougar Mall. This series of public readings is the culmination of the college’s When the War Is Over series, which has prompted College of Charleston community members to think about memory, division, and healing in communities torn apart by war, civil strife, intra-communal violence or genocide. Free. Event host: Simon Lewis.
