McKissick Museum Behind-the-Scenes Tour

Where does McKissick Museum store objects when the items are not on view? How are the items housed? ¬†Visitors can find the answers to these questions and learn about treasures in the museum’s massive collection during a behind-the-scenes tour October 6. With more than 100,000 gem and mineral specimens, sweetgrass baskets, Edgefield pottery, and even the first Cocky uniform, McKissick has something for everyone. Two tours are taking place – one from 11 a.m. – noon and a second tour from 3 – 4 p.m. Participants should meet in the museum’s second-floor lobby. Free.
