Massed Choirs Give Messiah Concert in Greenwood

The combined singers of the Greenwood Festival Chorale, Laurens County Chorale, University Singers of Lander University, and the Chancel Choir of First Baptist Church in Greenwood will present two performances of Handel’s MESSIAH – Friday, November 20, at 7:30 pm, at First Baptist Church in Clinton, and Sunday, November 22, at 3:00 pm, at the Josephine B. Abney Cultural Auditorium at Lander University. The combined forces will perform selections from all three parts of Handel’s masterpiece. With 150 singers, this will be the largest choir heard in Greenwood or Laurens Counties for many decades. Performers range in age from 19 to 85 or older. The choirs will be accompanied by a full orchestra including local instrumentalists. Dr. Chuck Neufeld and Dr. Marion Smith will share conducting duties.
