Mark Rapp Quintet
The Mark Rapp Quintet will perform October 11 at The Wheel Sessions at Greenville’s Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. A trumpeter, composer, arranger, didgeridoo player, recording and touring artist, Rapp has performed with artists ranging from Branford Marsalis to country music star Darius Rucker. Rapp has released eight diverse recordings, and is featured on the closing track of Disney’s “Everybody Wants to be a Cat.” Jazz greats James Genus, Walter Blanding, Jr, Don Braden, Wycliffe Gordon, Nate Smith, Clerence Penn, Wess “Warmdaddy” Anderson and others have performed in Rapp’s band. The “Wheel Sessions” is a jazz performance series hosted in Greenville. Performances begin at 7:30 pm, and are held in front of an intimate listening audience. There is a $15 entrance fee, which includes two sets of music. Attendees may BYOB.
