March Emrys Reading Room features Jamie Kornegay and Ray McManus

The Monday, March 23 Emrys Reading Room will feature writers Jamie Kornegay and Ray McManus. The event starts at 7pm at Gringo’s Cantina in downtown Greenville. Kornegay’s debut novel, Soil, tells the story of a young, struggling farmer with an estranged wife, a ruined crop, and a simple dream: to farm his small patch of land in the Mississippi Delta. Ray McManus has four books of poetry: Punch, Red Dirt Jesus, Left Behind and Driving through the country before you are born. His poetry has appeared in numerous journals, most recently in Blue Collar Review, Barely South and The Pinch. He is an Associate Professor of English at University of South Carolina Sumter. Emrys has a 35-year history of supporting the arts in the Upstate.
