Make Surfaces Sing

Columbia Art Center offers Make Surfaces Sing workshop May 14 – June 25. Over six weeks, students will learn how to layer techniques on the surface of their ceramic works to create depth and interest. Techniques include: impressed texture, inlay slip design, carving, image transfer with underglaze, and slip trailing. Glazing techniques including: wax resist, paper resist, and oxide washes. This is for both hand building and wheel throwing students. Students will need to bring both bisque and green ware pieces to work with. Registration fee of $50 covers instruction and operation costs. Class size limited to minimum of 4 and maximum of 10. Instruction by Vanessa DeVore
