Lucinda Howe: Abiding Trees
Contemporary Fauvist painter Lucinda Hoe’s new series, Abiding Trees, will be exhibited October 3rd – November 29th in the Shearhouse Center at Still Hopes Episcopal Retirement Community in West Columbia. Paintings in bold, extravagant colors celebrate our abiding relationships with trees. Howe paints on location, starting with a red underpainting to contrast with cool blues and greens. Back in the studio, she enlarges her plein air studies, adding personal expression with color and texture. Howe invites viewers to reflect on their own abiding relationship with trees in their personal and family history. The exhibition is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Free.
