Looking Toward Advent {Greenville}
S.C. Bach, South Carolina’s Bach Society, presents the South Carolina Bach Choir and North Carolina Baroque Orchestra in “Looking Toward Advent,” a concert series of choral and instrumental works by J.S. Bach. The program features Cantata: “Wachet auf ruft uns die Stimme” (Wake, awake for night is flying) (BWV 140); Motet: “Der Geist hilft unser Schwacheit auf” (The spirit gives helps in our weakness) (BWV 226); and Brandenburg Concerto #5 (BWV 1050). Featured musicians include Lester Siegel, harpsichord; David Wilson, violin; and Sung Lee, flute. Evening concerts will be held November 22nd at First Baptist Church in Greenville, and November 23rd at First Presbyterian Church in York; with a pre-concert talk at 7:00 pm, and concert start time of 7:30 pm. An afternoon concert will be given November 24th at 4pm at Episcopal Church of the Advent in Spartanburg.
