Live at Firefly: Mi Alma Latina with Nestor Torres
With his Caribbean heritage and Classical training, Nestor Torres provides a unique rhythmic and melodic approach to Jazz, one that explores diverse national traditions and bridges musical borders, embodying the essence of Mi Alma Latina: My Latin Soul; featuring Torres, The Charleston Jazz Orchestra, and Master Percussionist Gino Castillo. Charleston Jazz has adapted its season to offer each performance twice: virtually, then live outdoors at Firefly Distillery in North Charleston (featuring a smaller group of musicians and following social distancing guidelines). Mi Alma Latina will have its virtual premiere November 28th at 7:30 p.m.; and a rescheduled live performance November 20th at 6 p.m. (doors open at 5 p.m.).
Note: Tickets for Mi Alma Latina: Nestor Torres Live at Firefly are limited to those previously sold to the performance originally scheduled for March 14th at Charleston Music Hall. The virtual performance will be available for all ticket holders for the rest of the year.
