Lindsey Elsey: Artificial Kingdoms

Clemson University Center for Visual Arts presents Artificial Kingdoms, an MFA Senior Thesis Exhibit by Lindsey Elsey, on view Nov. 16–20 (9 a.m.–4:30 p.m.) in Lee Gallery, 1-101 Lee Hall. There will be an Artist Talk Wednesday, November 18 from 2:30 – 3 p.m., and a Closing Reception Friday, November 20 from 6 – 8 p.m. Lindsey Elsey’s work is an investigation of evolving iterations of fairy and folk tales as manifestations of personal desires to both escape from and understand the world around her. From the genesis of ceramic vessels, she fashions cues to fantastical realms that upend perceptions of femininity and dismantle the contemporary fixation on prince charming and the quest for “happily ever after.”
