Lanier Library Poetry Festival

The 2nd Annual Lanier Library Poetry Festival will be held April 24 and April 25 in Tryon, NC at the Lanier Library and nearby venues. Guest poet Richard Blanco will be the keynote speaker at a luncheon and will read from his work. Other notable poets will conduct workshops and hold readings and signings. The event will culminate with an awards ceremony for winners of the 7th Annual Sidney Lanier Poetry Competition hosted by this year’s judge, Keith Flynn. Founder and editor of the Asheville Poetry Review, Flynn will also read some of his own award-winning poetry. A reception will follow during which Tryon’s Lanier Library will celebrate its 125th anniversary. Cost of workshops varies. Luncheon tickets are $40. The readings, awards ceremony and a children’s program are free.
