Jules and Jim
Jules and Jim, a 1962 French New Wave romantic drama classic, directed, produced and writtern by Francois Truffaut, involves a love triangle among Jim, a French bohemian; his shy Austrian friend Jules; and Jules’ girlfriend and later wife, Catherine. Set around World War I, the drama is based on Henri-Pierre Roche’s 1953 semi-autobiographical novel of the same name and won France’s prestigious Etoile de Cristal award in 1963. The film will be shown in French with English subtitles. The event will be presented by the Coastal Carolina University Department of English October 2 at 5 p.m. in The Coastal Theater at Lib Jackson Student Union A-110 on the main campus in Conway. Free.
