Intimate Apparel at Trustus Theatre

Another Trustus favorite returns to the stage this fall. Set in 1905 New York, Intimate Apparel tells the story of Esther, a lonely, single African-American woman who makes her living sewing beautiful corsets and ladies’ undergarments. Seeking love and romance, Esther embarks on a letter writing relationship with a mysterious suitor laboring on the Panama Canal, and realizes that only her self-reliance and certainty of her own worth will see her through life’s challenges. The cast features Trustus Company member and original cast member Lonetta Thompson, new Company members Tashera Pravato and Rayana Briggs, as well as Katie Mixon, Deon Turner, and Patrick Dodds. Trustus Company Emerita Jocelyn Sanders returns to direct. Performances are November 12-14, 17-21, & 26-27, at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and at 3 p.m. Sunday.
