Intermediate Throwing

City of Columbia Parks and Recreation offers a 6-week Intermediate Throwing class designed for the person who knows basic throwing but wants to advance their skills. Some of the skills taught will be enhancing forms by attaching additional thrown parts, throwing and working efficiently with handles and spouts, throwing and fitting lids, among other skills. The focus of the class will be to throw and complete a tea pot. Students must have prior experience with basic throwing. Minimum of 3 and maximum of 6 students will be accepted. Registration fee of $80 covers all clay, firing, and glazing. Potters must have their own tool kit. Classes are held Wednesdays, July 8th through December 16th, at the Art Center, 1928 Calhoun St, Columbia, SC.
