The Horry County Museum in Conway and The AVX Foundation present¬†Hidden in Plain Sight: African American Gems in Horry & Georgetown Counties, a lecture by Jannie Harriot and Dawn Dawson-House, February 3 at 1 p.m. From Rosenwald and colored schools, to historic churches and slave cabins, the African American footprint in Horry and Georgetown counties is broad, significant and often hidden in plain sight. The lecture will include information about the South Carolina African American Heritage Commission’s Green Book of South Carolina, an online travel guide to historic markers and sites associated with African American heritage.
