Healing Icons Brings The Mystical Arts of Tibet

Healing Mandala – Sand Painting – Live Exhibition
Healing Icons brings The Monks of Drepung Loseling Monastery to Storm Water Studios, Columbia, SC, December 13 -17, 2022, to create the Medicine Buddha Sand Mandala. Millions of grains of sand are painstakingly laid into place on a fly platform over the week as a tool for healing and re-consecrating the earth and its inhabitants. The mandala will be deconstructed at the closing ceremony, 11 a.m., December 17, with half of the sands distributed among the audience and the other half carried to the nearby river to be carried away, to fulfill the function of healing.
Noon Workshops and Lectures will be at the nearby Cathy Novinger Girl Scout Leadership Center, Wednesday-Friday.
