Hand Building Basics

City of Columbia Parks and Recreation offers a class for those who want to develop solid hand building techniques with clay. Each class time is designed to meet the needs of those individuals who want to develop more techniques before advancing to the next stage of working with clay. Students are required to either purchase a basic pottery tool kit or bring one with them. This 6 week class is designed to equip the student with the basics of pottery. Minimum enrollment 3 and maximum 10 accepted. Through targeted hand building an estimated 4 projects will be completed. Sessions run July 7th through December 15th and meet at the Art Center and Backman Gallery, 1928 Calhoun Street in Columbia. The cost is $80.
