Gullah Tings fa Tink Bout

The North Charleston Arts Festival presents “Gullah Tings fa Tink Bout,” Sunday, May 3 from 6:30-8:00pm, at The Olde Village Community Building, 4820 Jenkins Avenue, North Charleston, SC. Award-winning singer, songwriter, and Gullah culture preservationist Ronald Daise will meet and greet guests at a reception with light hors d’oeuvres from 6:30-7:00pm, then present an original program in celebration of the Gullah Geechee culture from 7:00-8:00pm. Through original songs and readings, audiences will be taken on a musical journey of rich imagery and evocative rhythms and instrumentation. Daise, co-star of Nick Jr. TV’s “Gullah Gullah Island,” is the recipient of the 1996 South Carolina Order of the Palmetto, the State’s highest honor. Tickets: $15 (includes reception and performance); available at the door or in advance by calling 843-740-5847.
