Greenville Symphony: Americana

The Greenville Symphony Orchestra’s final Masterworks of the 2014-2015 concert season is Americana, featuring music by Leonard Bernstein and George Gershwin, May 16 & 17 at the Peace Center for the Performing Arts. The program includes Bernstein’s Overture to “West Side Story” followed by his witty tribute to the Boston Pops Orchestra, Divertimento; and Gershwin’s Symphonic Picture from “Porgy and Bess,” a portrait of community life in Cat Fish Row circa 1920s Charleston.
