Greenville Jazz Collective Summer Jazz Camp at Furman University

A joint program of Furman Music and the nonprofit Greenville Jazz Collective, Summer Jazz Camp is designed to encourage high school students of all levels to fuel their jazz performance skills. Students will take daily classes in jazz theory, improvisation, and jazz history, and perform in a big band and/or jazz combo. The camp includes evening faculty recitals, social events, group lessons, improvisation sessions and a final student concert. Students of all instruments can apply, particularly those who play saxophone, trombone, trumpet, piano, guitar, bass (electric and/or acoustic), and drums. Middle school students considered by recommendation. Summer Jazz Camp is offered June 24-28.  Fee: $530 overnight;$410 commuter. Registration deadline: April 30.
