Greenville Chautauqua: Voices of the Civil War – Two blue and two grey

Greenville Chautauqua and the Spartanburg County Library present a free Chautauqua program, “Voices of the Civil War: Longstreet’s Assault at Gettysburg” (widely known as Pickett’s Charge), May 16th at 7pm, in celebration of the Grand Opening of the Gettysburg Room at the Headquarters Library. Journey back in time to meet four key figures from the Battle of Gettysburg – Confederate General George Pickett and Union General Winfield Scott Hancock – and two privates, one Blue, the other Grey. All four soldiers will be performed by Chautauqua historical interpreter, Pat Grills. Period music will be performed by Kate Riedy and Gabe Turner. The James Walker masterpiece “The Battle of Gettysburg: Repulse of Longstreet’s Assault” from The Johnson Collection will be on display.
