General Nathanael Greene Show
General Nathanael Greene portrayed by K. Ken Johnston
Last winter we entertained Lady Catherine Littlefield Greene as she made her way south to join her husband, General Nathanael Greene, at the Continental Army’s encampment above the Ashley River. This winter, as the anniversary of the Battle of Cowpens approaches, we’ll meet her husband.
A quiet, mainly self-educated, former Quaker, Greene was perhaps General George Washington’s steadiest, most dependable officer, respected by fellow soldiers and foes alike. Join us as we hear about how he emerged victorious despite long odds and repeated defeats in the crucible of war that was the Southern Theater during the struggle for American Independence.
