Gallery Talk with Architect Claudia McAninch: Josef and Anni Albers

Join the Johnson Collection for ArtWalk on January 18 at 6:30 p.m. for a talk featuring Claudia McAninch, architect for McMillan Pazdan Smith, discussing Josef and Anni Albers and their connection to the influential Bauhaus school.
McAninch, who trained at Bauhaus University Weimar, the successor institution of the Bauhaus, will explore the origins of the artworks by Anni and Josef Albers currently on display in TJC Gallery. Tracing both Albers’ time at the Bauhaus – an avant-garde art and design school founded in 1919 in Weimar, Germany – Claudia will outline the influences, distinctions, and similarities between the two artists and how they were affected by the teachings and philosophy of the school.
