Gage Hall Coffeehouse Presents Lee Barbour and Barrett Smith
The 2016 Gage Hall Coffeehouse series continues with guitarists Lee Barbour and Barrett Smith, back by popular demand, March 19 at 7:30 pm in Charleston. Frequently mistaken for brothers, Lee and Barrett formed a musical kinship that has ebbed and flowed over the years as both pursued their own unique musical paths. Barrett has toured the world playing a mix of Bluegrass, Folk and Alt-Country with a variety of artists, while Lee has found his voice in several jazz idioms, recording with Miles Davis’ first guitar player, Joe Beck, and teaching jazz guitar at the College of Charleston and the NYC Guitar School. When they play together, it’s a mix of their favorite songs and genres and a reunion of two friends, making music the way they always have.
