From Sea to Shining Sea: Inventing a National Narrative with Linda Ferber
The Gibbes Museum of Art in Charleston presents the lecture From Sea to Shining Sea: Inventing a National Narrative with Linda Ferber January 18th. The United States has been called “Nature’s Nation” because images of American scenery have played such an important role in the development of national identity. Ferber will reflect upon the still-prevailing assumption that American scenery somehow embodies American cultural and political ideals. A book signing will follow the lecture.
