French Film Festival Opens With Timbuktu

The University of South Carolina, Columbia College and Alliance Française of Columbia present Timbuktu, the opening film of the annual CinéCola / Tournées Festival, the Midlands film series devoted to recent French and Francophone cinema. Abderrahmane Sissako’s award-winning film is about the jihadist siege of the Malian city of Timbuktu. The screening is Tuesday, October 20 at the Columbia Museum of Art, 1515 Main Street, 7 PM. Preceded at 6 PM by West African themed reception offered by the Alliance Française of Columbia.
