FOLKFabulous@theFair 2018: Day Twelve
FOLKFabulous@theFair returns to the SC State Fair in October. This year’s festival celebrates our state’s vibrant pottery traditions. Daily activities include the exhibit, Pottery in South Carolina, a Pottery Boneyard by the Newberry Arts Center and SC Clay Conference, and an oral history project, Share Your Fair Story. For Day 12 on October 21, Story Quilt maven Peggie Hartwell will lead a drop-in Family and Memory Quilt Workshop from 1- 5 p.m. Create your own story block and find your “voice on cloth.” Materials provided. Hartwell, who depicts her family stories, African American culture, & current world issues in her work, will also display her quilts. Check McKissick Museum’s Facebook page for more details. All activities are free with Fair admission.
