FOLKFabulous@theFair 2018: Day Six
FOLKFabulous@theFair returns to the SC State Fair in October. This year’s festival celebrates our state’s vibrant pottery traditions. Daily activities include the exhibit, Pottery in South Carolina, a Pottery Boneyard by the Newberry Arts Center and SC Clay Conference, and an oral history project, Share Your Fair Story. October 15 is College Day. In addition to free fair admission (with Student ID), students will learn about pottery techniques from Master Catawba potter Keith Brown & his apprentice Teresa Harris. They will also discuss their centuries-old pottery tradition and their experience with the Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Initiative. Check McKissick Museum’s Facebook page for more details. All activities are free with Fair admission.
