FOLKFabulous@theFair 2018: Day One
FOLKFabulous@theFair returns to the SC State Fair in October. This year’s festival celebrates our state’s vibrant pottery traditions. Daily activities include the exhibit, Pottery in South Carolina, a Pottery Boneyard by the Newberry Arts Center and SC Clay Conference, and an oral history project, Share Your Fair Story. The featured activity for October 10 is an installation by the Yarn Bombers of Columbia, with the group speaking about their work in the Home Arts area. Join the process with a stitching circle from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Potters from Columbia Art Center will present pottery displays and offer hands-on experiences throughout the day. Check McKissick Museum’s Facebook page for more details. All activities are free with Fair admission.
