FOLKFabulous@theFair 2018: Day Nine
FOLKFabulous@theFair returns to the SC State Fair in October. This year’s festival celebrates our state’s vibrant pottery traditions. Daily activities include the exhibit, Pottery in South Carolina, a Pottery Boneyard by the Newberry Arts Center and SC Clay Conference, and an oral history project, Share Your Fair Story. For Day Nine on October 18 (noon – 6 p.m.), Justin Guy will create & talk about Edgefield pottery. Learn how these elemental designs are made and try your hand. The Yarn Bombers of Columbia are back at 3:30 p.m. in the Home Arts Area. Before and afterward, these yarn magicians will host an open stitching circle in Rosewoods. You’ll even be able add your own creation to the display! Check McKissick Museum’s Facebook page for more details. All activities are free with Fair admission.
