McKissick Museum presents FOLKFabulous – a day-long celebration of traditional musicians, demonstrating instrument makers, and musical advocates in South Carolina – on Saturday, August 22nd from 11am to 5pm at the Historic Horseshoe on the campus of the University of South Carolina in Columbia. Scheduled performing artists include NEA National Heritage Fellowship recipient Drink Small, Mill Billy Blues, and Minister Jarell Smalls. FOLKFabulous is the opening event for McKissick Museum’s year-long exhibit, Heard at Every Turn: Traditional Music in South Carolina, and is presented with support from the South Carolina Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts. Admission is free, food will be available, and you can bring your acoustic instruments to jam with others.
