Fingerreisen, an exhibition by Elisabeth Pellathy and Lee Somers
USC School of Visual Art and Design presents Fingerreisen, an exhibition of works by Elisabeth Pellathy and Lee Somers, August 25th – October 6th at McMaster Gallery. Fingerreisen is the German term for imaginary journeys taken by both the hand and the mind interacting with maps. Pellathy and Somers use maps as a starting point for imaginary journeys and as a visual record for the experience of place. The exhibition features traditional and experimental artistic processes including sculpture, drawing, video, and sound that investigate unconventional notions of exploring landscape. Both artists will give talks during the opening reception August 25th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Free.
