Finding Their Voices: The Songs of Charles Ives and Percy Grainger
Jeffrey Jones (baritone), associate professor of music at Coastal Carolina University, and Kevin Hanrahan (tenor), associate professor of voice and vocal pedagogy at the Glenn Korff School of Music at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, present works by Charles Ives and Percy Grainger, accompanied by Daniel Francis. Ives and Grainger both had composition careers that spanned the early 20th century and influenced modern nationalistic music. With the late Romantic era as their foundation, these composers infused their music with modern techniques and sought to find their unique compositional voices. The performance will be held October 17th at 7:30 p.m. in Edwards Recital Hall at Coastal Carolina University. Tickets $7.
