Film Screening: Miracle at St. Anna

Set in 1944 Italy, Miracle at St. Anna tells the story of four black American soldiers trapped in a Tuscan village during World War II. Adapted from the 2003 book by James McBride, the film is directed by Spike Lee. At the conclusion of the film, Maggi Morehouse, professor of history at Coastal Carolina University, provides the historical context for the film and leads a discussion on race, identity, nationalism and citizenship in war and the military. The screening takes place September 27th at 5 p.m. in Lib Jackson Student Union at Coastal Carolina University. Free.
