Documentary Film: The Vanishing Generation

The 2024 Horry County Museum Documentary Film Series continues with The Vanishing Generation. It has been almost 80 years since the end of World War II, and the last of the South Carolina veterans who fought against the Empire of Japan and Nazi Germany are now dying at an alarming rate. Soon their living memories will be gone, and World War II will simply become another chapter in history. This film is a powerful visualization of the first-hand accounts of World War II by South Carolina veterans. These personal remembrances tell the story of what these men experienced, and how it changed not only the world but their lives as well.
The free screening begins at 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, at the Horry County Museum, located at 805 Main Street in Conway.
