DIY Refashion Workshop with Amanda Cox
The cycle of fashion brings new garments every season, which are soon out of fashion, and often end up in landfills. Refashioning eliminates the need to buy new, and also allows you to make something more unique than mainstream fashion. Sumter County Gallery of Art offers a two-day “Refashion” class where students will learn the basics of how to set up a sewing machine, basic deconstruction and reconstrcution skills and how to print their own unique design onto fabric. These new skills can start students down the path of turning tired clothes into one-of-a-kind refashions. This is a 2-day workshop led by Amanda Cox, suitable for ages 9-17, meeting March 18 from 4 – 6 p.m. and March 19 from 11 – 2 p.m.
